Visual and Vestibular Therapy
In order to stay upright in the earth’s gravitational field, three systems work together to create posture, stability and balance. They are the Visual system (Eyes), Vestibular system (Inner ear) and the Proprioceptive system (Muscles and joints). Deficits in the function of any of these systems will alter a patient’s ability to perform normal daily tasks and can lead to many different symptoms including nausea, dizziness, balance and gait changes, difficult reading, fixating on objects, head tilts, and headaches just to name a few.
Our office is equipped with state of the art systems which analyze eye movements and balance, as well as therapeutic tools such as virtual reality and balance training systems to assist in reintegrating the proper function of our inner ear (vestibular system) and the eyes (visual/oculomotor).
